JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOW) – Areas of lake effect rain showers will continue into Tuesday. Drier and warmer weather is then expected for the middle of the week.

Outside of lake effect showers for Monday and Tuesday, mostly cloudy skies will prevail. A few breaks in the cloud cover are possible, especially Tuesday afternoon when drier air begins to work in.

Highs for today and Tuesday will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Building in high pressure will bring partly sunny skies to the region for the middle of the week on Wednesday and into Thursday.

Similar to last week, clouds will be on the increase Thursday out ahead of another system that will bring more widespread rain into the region by the end of the week.

Temperatures will briefly warm into the upper 50’s to lower 60’s for the middle of the week before dropping off again by the weekend.
