(WNY News Now) – A 48-year-old Jamestown resident is in custody and facing a slew of charges, including resisting arrest, drug possession, criminal impersonation, and being a fugitive from justice.

Jamestown – Paul A. Russo 48-year-old resident of Jamestown was arrested on the evening of October 20, 2023. The Jamestown Police Department was in the process of executing a warrant check at a residence on the city’s west side when they encountered Mr. Russo.

During this encounter, officers became aware of several outstanding warrants against him, originating from the Jamestown Police Department, Fredonia Police Department, and Bradford, Pennsylvania. In an attempt to evade arrest, Mr. Russo allegedly falsely identified himself as another individual. When officers discerned his impersonation, he made a futile attempt to escape on foot.

After a brief pursuit, the authorities managed to apprehend him. Subsequently, during a search conducted as part of the arrest process, officers discovered a quantity of Hydrocodone Bitartrate, classified as a controlled substance. Paul A. Russo was charged with multiple offenses, including Resisting Arrest, Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and for being a Fugitive from Justice.

As of now, Paul A. Russo is being held in custody, awaiting arraignment at the Jamestown City Jail.
