(WNY News Now) – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo, NY, has issued a Winter Weather Advisory effective from January 10 at 6:35 PM EST until January 11 at 7:00 PM EST, predicting lake effect snow with additional accumulations of 3 to 5 inches.

Residents in Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties are urged to brace for challenging weather conditions, especially in the Boston Hills, western Wyoming County, and higher terrain in northern Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. Expect winds gusting up to 40 mph, causing blowing snow tonight, with winds diminishing overnight.
