(WNY News Now) – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, under Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb, has apprehended a 55-year old Jamestown, NY, man in connection with multiple burglary incidents in Allegany.

Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Marcus A. Norman, a 55-year-old resident of Jamestown, NY, following an investigation into a string of burglary-related offenses. Norman stands accused of Burglary in the 2nd degree, Petit Larceny, and two counts of Attempted Burglary in the 2nd degree.

The incidents in question occurred on December 2nd, 2023, and March 17th, 2024, primarily within the Town and Village of Allegany. In December 2023, Norman unlawfully entered a residence on the St. Bonaventure campus, stealing property, and attempted another burglary in the village of Allegany. On March 17th, 2024, Norman returned to the same Allegany residence, where he was once again thwarted by the occupants.

Despite being pursued by one of the residents, no injuries were reported during the incidents. Norman was apprehended without issue at his place of employment and subsequently arraigned in Allegany court by Judge Porter. He has been remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail pending further legal proceedings.
