(WNY News Now) – Town of Portland, NY – In a recent situation in the Rails to Trails town of Portland, a suspicious ATV discovery led to the arrest of a 35year-old male from Brocton, NY, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office investigators responded to a report of an abandoned ATV near Rails to Trails in Portland on April 17, 2024. Through collaboration with local residents, it was determined that the ATV was stolen from a nearby farm. William J. Burch was allegedly found in possession of the stolen vehicle and subsequently issued an appearance ticket. The ATV has been returned to its rightful owner.
