(WNY News Now) – Fredonia, NY – After concerted efforts, the Chautauqua County Health Department, in collaboration with the Village of Fredonia, has rescinded the boil water advisory and conservation orders, reinstating normal water usage for all Fredonia residents, including those in Pomfret.

The Chautauqua County Health Department, in conjunction with the Village of Fredonia has lifted the boil water and conservation orders for all Village of Fredonia water customers, including customers within the Town of Pomfret. The plant returned to normal operation Friday afternoon. The system was flushed on Friday night which allowed turbidity levels in the distribution to return to acceptable levels. Two consecutive days of testing indicate that the water throughout the distribution system is safe for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, making coffee, etc.

All plumbing lines that have not been used regularly since the boil water went into effect should be flushed before water from that line is consumed. This includes ice makers and refrigerator water dispensers
