Mohamed Y. Alhaj, 24, faces multiple charges after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of a significant quantity of controlled substances and fireworks in his possession.

On the evening of April 27th, 2024, Jamestown Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a switched license plate near Forest Ave. and Columbia Ave. The driver, identified as Mohamed Y. Alhaj, was found to be in possession of nearly 5 pounds of Psilocin gummies, over 16 ounces of cannabis, along with fireworks and other THC and Mushroom products.

Alhaj was taken into custody without incident and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the 3rd Degree, Unlawful Dealing with Fireworks, and Consumption of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Additionally, he received numerous uniform traffic tickets.

Currently, Alhaj is being held pending arraignment in the Jamestown City Jail.
