(WNY News Now) – Stockton, NY – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a 30 year-old resident of Stockton, NY, on May 14th, 2024, for alleged trespassing and hunting without permission on Barnes Rd. in Stockton. Linger faces multiple charges, including trespass and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) violations.

Deputies responded to a reported trespassing incident on Barnes Rd. and found allegedly Linger without permission to be on the property, allegedly attempting to hunt. A shotgun, reportedly belonging to Joseph A. Linger, 30, was found nearby. Linger faces charges of trespassing, aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration, and NYS DEC violations. The Chautauqua Co. Sheriff’s Office, assisted by NYS DEC, is handling the case. Linger is scheduled to appear in the Town of Stockton Court.
