(WNY News Now) Warren, PA – The Warren Public Library is hosting a free fly fishing seminar on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, beginning at 5:30 PM. 

Two local fly fishing experts, Tom Bergstue and John Gerber, will present during the seminar. Attendees will learn to tie their own flies, what gear is essential, how to choose the correct fly for stream conditions, fishing techniques and strategy, and fly fishing photography tips and tricks. From the novice to the most seasoned angler, everyone is sure to learn something new.

As a pro in the hunting and fishing industry, Tom Bergstue has been featured in several major publications and also taught hundreds of hours of fishing and hunting instruction, both in the field and through college and adult education classes, introducing thousands of people to effective hunting techniques and the art and science of fly fishing. He was awarded Orvis’s Trophy Class Silver Pin for both trout and salmon fly-fishing catch and release, and has been honored by Trout Unlimited for his contributions to the sport of trout fishing.

Dr. John Gerber is a world-class photographer, avid fly fisherman, and fly fishing instructor. His international fly fishing and photography adventures have taken him to Africa, India, Patagonia, Brazil, and everywhere in between.

This program is part of the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” summer series at Warren Public Library.
