(WNY News Now) – Bensonhurst, Brooklyn – A Brooklyn man accused of killing four relatives, including his young niece and nephew, claimed he was high on psychedelic mushrooms and couldn’t remember the horrific events, prosecutors revealed during his arraignment.

Shahboz Rajabboev, 24, faces multiple murder charges for allegedly stabbing his mother and strangling his sister-in-law, 5-year-old niece, and 4-year-old nephew in the family’s Bensonhurst apartment. Rajabboev was arraigned Sunday night and ordered held without bail.

According to prosecutors, Rajabboev told police he ingested two grams of mushrooms and was unable to recall the events. The gruesome discovery was made by Rajabboev’s brother, who returned home to their first-floor apartment on W. Eighth St. near Avenue P around 10:15 p.m. Friday. Upon finding Rajabboev scratched and covered in blood, he asked where their mother was. Rajabboev’s chilling response was, “Go find her.”

Inside the apartment, the brother found their mother, 56-year-old Fayzieva Mavlyuda, with multiple stab wounds. He immediately called 911, stating his wife and children were also missing. Police later discovered the bodies of Maftuna Khakimova, 27, wrapped in a blanket inside garbage bags, and the children, Kamila Shavkatova, 5, and Timur, 4, dead in a closet, also stuffed into garbage bags. Initial investigations suggested stabbing, but it was later determined all three were strangled.

Rajabboev, who also lived in the apartment, returned during the police search and was promptly taken into custody. He is scheduled to return to court on Friday.
