(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY — Jarreau Robinson, 21, pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges related to the illegal sale of machine gun conversion devices. Robinson admitted to transferring three such devices to an undercover agent for $700 on January 10, 2024, in Buffalo, as detailed in an affidavit by FBI Agent Curtis Middlebrooks.
The devices, which can convert semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic machine guns, were sold during a covert operation that included video surveillance by law enforcement. Robinson’s guilty plea comes amid a series of legal troubles. This year, he has also confessed to unrelated weapons charges in both federal and state courts.
Robinson’s legal issues began with his arrest by Buffalo police in October 2022 on charges of criminal possession of a weapon. Following his plea on February 22, 2024, to attempted second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, he now faces up to seven years in prison. Sentencing is set for August 7, with Robinson currently held in custody without bail.
