(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – A 25-year-old Buffalo man, Tamaury Love, was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by 15 years of post-release supervision for a 2022 rape incident. Love, who must register as a sex offender upon release, was convicted of first-degree rape, a Class “B” violent felony.

The crime occurred in the early hours of March 13, 2022, when Love forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim at knifepoint at a Buffalo residence. DNA evidence linked Love to the assault, leading to his arrest and subsequent guilty plea on May 1, 2024.
Love’s sentencing was further complicated by his pending sentence in a 2018 burglary case. He had initially entered a diversion program after pleading guilty to third-degree burglary. However, following his indictment for rape and multiple program violations, he was terminated from the diversion program and received a concurrent sentence of 2 1/3 to 7 years for the burglary.
Additionally, Love was previously sentenced to a conditional discharge for a 2020 criminal trespass and vandalism incident. Upon his arrest for the 2022 rape, this conditional discharge was violated, resulting in a 364-day jail sentence to be served concurrently with his other sentences.
Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane praised the Buffalo Police Department and the Special Victims Unit for their diligent work on these cases. The sexual assault prosecution was led by Assistant Chief Gina M. Gramaglia, while the burglary and criminal mischief cases were handled by Assistant District Attorneys Daniel Morris and Hilarie N. Henry.
