(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of three individuals on multiple drug and weapon charges, highlighting ongoing concerns about drug activity in the area.

On the night of August 17, 2024, officers from the Jamestown Police Department conducted a traffic stop near W 7th St. and Cherry St. that resulted in the arrest of three individuals on a variety of serious charges.

Brook A. Patterson, a 38-year-old resident of Frewsburg, was identified as the driver. Officers were aware that Patterson had an outstanding felony warrant from the Jamestown Police Department and a revoked driver’s license. During the stop, narcotics were observed in plain view within the vehicle.

A subsequent search revealed that Patterson was in possession of cocaine, Suboxone, U.S. currency, a digital scale, and a switchblade knife. Patterson now faces multiple charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 1st Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree.

The vehicle’s passengers, 19-year-old Ruben L. Medina of Jamestown and 31-year-old Chelsey L. Green of Kennedy, were both found to be in possession of cocaine. Medina and Green were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.

All three individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where they are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
