(WNY News Now) – Wellsville, N.Y. – Volunteers from the Allegany County Democratic Committee have stepped up to serve their community, donating over a dozen bags of essential items to the Wellsville Salvation Army.
In a meaningful display of community service, the Allegany County Democratic Committee recently collected and delivered more than a dozen bags filled with non-perishable food and personal care items to the Wellsville Salvation Army. This initiative was part of their “Coffee with Democrats” event, reflecting the committee’s commitment to their motto: “Serving our Community.”
The Salvation Army, a longstanding presence in Wellsville since 1906, serves an average of 550-600 individuals each month. Located at 25 East Pearl St., the pantry operates from Tuesday to Thursday, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and offers church services on Sundays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
“The Salvation Army is proud to serve Allegany County,” states Emily Stothart, Employee in Charge. “Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The support of the Allegany County Democratic Committee to join in meeting human needs is a welcome contribution to the fight against food insecurity and social needs in our area. We are grateful for your support. Thank you.”
The next “Coffee with Democrats” event is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th, at the committee’s Election Headquarters, located at 84 North Main St. in Wellsville. Community members are invited to join the conversation and contribute to local food pantries. For more information, contact the committee at info@alleganycountydemocrats.org or 585-610-4321.
