(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of a local man for the illegal possession of multiple firearms, including loaded pistols and a high-capacity magazine.

On September 13, 2024, at approximately 12:13 a.m., Jamestown Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Prather Avenue and Forest Avenue. Officers from the K-9 Unit pulled over Devan M. Huntington, a 30-year-old Jamestown resident, for multiple moving violations.

During the investigation, officers discovered Huntington was allegedly in possession of two loaded pistols, an unloaded pistol, and a large-capacity feeding device. Huntington, who does not possess a valid pistol permit, was found to be illegally in possession of the firearms.

Huntington faces multiple charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (for the high-capacity device and possession of three or more firearms), and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He is currently being held in Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
