(WNY News Now) – An early-morning narcotics investigation in Silver Creek and Sheridan led to the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a weapon, as law enforcement agencies executed simultaneous search warrants.

In a coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, two drug-related search warrants were executed in the Village of Silver Creek and the Town of Sheridan on Wednesday, October 2nd, resulting in the arrest of six individuals. Narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department, and Jamestown Police Department, alongside SWAT teams, carried out the searches at 6 Jaekle Avenue, Silver Creek, and 3023 Route 20, Sheridan.

During the raids, authorities seized 11.1 grams of fentanyl, 8.5 grams of methamphetamine, prescription pills, scales, packaging material, a shotgun, and $770 in cash, believed to be connected to drug distribution activities.

At the Jaekle Avenue residence, two suspects, James M. Hurley Jr., 31, of Silver Creek, and Marissa Moquin, 28, were arrested. Hurley faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third and seventh degrees, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. Moquin was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

The raid at the Route 20 location led to the arrest of Justin T. Schuk, 42, Jodi J. Messere, 45, and Arlene Y. Rivera, 36, all of Dunkirk. Schuk and Messere were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. Rivera was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia.

All suspects were taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment, except for Moquin, who was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Hanover Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
