(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, N.Y. – Tyler Tedesco, a 28-year-old resident of Jamestown, has been sentenced to 78 months in prison for his involvement in a significant drug conspiracy that distributed over 50 grams of methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara presided over the sentencing, which was announced by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross.
Tedesco was found guilty of conspiring to possess and distribute large quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl as part of a drug trafficking operation led by co-defendant Rocco Beardsley. According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti, Tedesco played a crucial role in the organization, selling substantial amounts of narcotics for profit, managing drug transactions, and collecting proceeds from sales.
The investigation revealed that Tedesco and Beardsley coordinated their narcotics activities through Facebook, discussing debts, cash and drug transactions, supplies, and paraphernalia. Their communication methods underscore the modern tactics employed by drug traffickers to evade law enforcement.
Rocco Beardsley, who was also implicated in this operation, has already been convicted and is currently awaiting sentencing. The investigation, which highlights the collaboration between federal and local law enforcement, was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Jamestown Police Department. The DEA was directed by Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarentino, while the Jamestown Police Department was led by Chief Timothy Jackson.
