(WNY News Now) – Today, on the 16th anniversary of the disappearance of Corrie Anderson, the Western New York Missing and Unidentified Persons Network rallied together to continue the search.

Busti, N.Y. – October 28th, 2024 marks the 16th anniversary of the disappearance of Corrie Anderson. Anderson was last seen shortly after 1 p.m. on October 28th, 2008, when she was leaving the former Lake County Dodge car dealership on Washington Street in Jamestown. She missed a meeting at her son’s school at 3:15 p.m., which was very unusual behavior for Corrie. Two days later, on October 30th, 2008, her van, a 2005 Dodge Caravan, was found on a trail off of Kortwright Road in Busti.

As it stands, Corrie’s vehicle, shoes, and keys have been found, but her remaining attire, thin wire framed glasses, a black leather jacket and black corduroy pants, and a black 8×8 lady’s shoulder purse with a G.H. Bass company logo remain missing in addition to Corrie herself.

Though the prospects may look bleak after 16 years, many members of the community remain undaunted in their tireless search for answers. Western New York Missing and Unidentified Persons Network rallied dozens of volunteers together today to search the woods in Busti where Corrie’s vehicle was found in the hopes of finding something that may help bring investigators closer to finding out what happened to Corrie Anderson.

Merry Williams Diers, speaking to WNY News Now, reaffirmed their resolve toward the matter. “Don’t give up.” she said. “If you don’t look, you may never find, and if you don’t find, to me, that is us being far too complacent as community members, as mothers, as neighbors, as friends, as colleagues. You don’t just give up on a neighbor, a friend, a community member.”

Members of the community who may have any information regarding the disappearance of Corrie Anderson can contact NYSP investigator Joseph Smith at (716) 374-4139. If you do not wish to speak to law enforcement, you can also anonymously contact Western New York Missing and Unidentified Persons Network by emailing wnymissingandunidentified@yahoo.com.
