(WNY News Now) – Four individuals, including the alleged getaway driver, have admitted guilt in the violent Hawley Street shooting incident that left a Lockport residence riddled with bullet holes last year.

LOCKPORT, NY — Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman has announced that four defendants pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a shooting on November 7, 2022, which targeted a residence on Hawley Street in Lockport. The incident, allegedly prompted by a juvenile dispute, involved multiple rounds being fired into the home while residents were inside, though miraculously, no injuries were reported.

The investigation revealed that Christina Knight-McCoy, age 50 of Lockport, drove a vehicle with several occupants to the targeted residence, where at least two individuals exited the car and began firing at the house. Authorities reported more than 20 rounds shot into the property. Following the attack, Knight-McCoy reportedly led Lockport Police on a chase through the city, ending on South Street, where the vehicle was stopped with five passengers inside, including a minor. Law enforcement officials discovered three firearms in the vehicle.

The defendants involved and their respective charges are as follows:

  • Quannell J. Armstrong, 27, of Rochester, pleaded guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and could face a sentence of up to seven years in state prison.
  • Timothy L. Jones, 31, of Rochester, also pleaded guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and faces a similar potential sentence of seven years.
  • Christina L. Knight-McCoy, the driver, pleaded guilty to Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, carrying a possible seven-year sentence.
  • Bettina D. Knight, 50, of Rochester, pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Firearm, which could lead to a maximum sentence of four years.

Knight-McCoy, Armstrong, and Jones have been remanded to custody as they await sentencing, which is scheduled for January 22, 2025, before Niagara County Court Judge Caroline Wojtaszek. The Lockport Police Department conducted the investigation, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Maria Stoelting and David DeChellis.
