(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A late-night gunshot incident at a Northside residence resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old Jamestown man on multiple charges, including reckless endangerment and weapon possession.

Jamestown police officers responded to a residence around 11:00 PM on November 30, 2024, following a gunshot complaint. Upon investigation, officers determined that Skyler J. Tritapoe had allegedly fired a shotgun at a male, narrowly missing him, and discharged another round into the ceiling of his home.

Officers successfully negotiated with Tritapoe, who exited his residence without further incident. The shotgun was recovered, and Tritapoe was taken into custody. He faces charges of Reckless Endangerment First Degree, Menacing Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon Fourth Degree.

Tritapoe was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. The Jamestown Police Department (JPD) received assistance from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the New York State Police (NYSP) during the operation. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
