(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY — A 30-year-old Jamestown resident is facing multiple charges following two incidents involving a stolen vehicle and drug possession on the city’s west side.
On December 3, 2024, at approximately 2:22 PM, officers from the First Platoon of the Jamestown Police Department responded to a report of a property damage hit-and-run. Their swift investigation led to the identification of Aaron A. Johnson as the suspect and the recovery of the involved vehicle, which was being operated with a suspended New York State driver’s license. Multiple traffic tickets were issued, and the vehicle was impounded.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 3:44 PM, officers from the Second Platoon were called to investigate a stolen vehicle complaint originating from Johnson’s residence. Authorities determined Johnson had taken the vehicle without the owner’s consent for personal use.
Upon his arrest at the scene, Johnson was found in possession of fentanyl. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Jamestown City Jail.
Johnson is charged with:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Misdemeanor)
He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
