(WNY News Now) – HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry announced today that over $800,000 in restitution has been distributed to more than 250 consumers impacted by unlawful “rent to own” contracts with Vision Property Management.

Those receiving a restitution check as part of this settlement are the consumers who have returned a completed questionnaire to the Office of Attorney General. Those consumers have already been contacted and should receive their checks within the next few weeks. In 2021 and 2022, approximately 250 consumers were deeded homes under “rent to own” contracts with Vision Property Management, as ordered by the Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. The funds were not distributed to consumers who were already deeded homes.

The lawsuit continues with respect to defendants Alexander and Antonio Szkaradek, the masterminds of the Vision scheme, and ACM Vision V, a subsidiary of Atalaya Capital Management, which participated in and funded the allegedly unlawful behavior. The Commonwealth will continue to fight for additional restitution and civil penalties against these parties.

This matter continues to be handled by Senior Deputy Attorney General Susan Apel.
