(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, NY – Hunter Saxbury, a 22-year-old Buffalo resident, was sentenced today to 10 years of sex offender probation following an attempted sexual abuse incident in April 2024. State Supreme Court Justice Debra A. Haendiges issued the sentence, which includes 12 months of electronic monitoring and mandatory registration as a Level 1 Sex Offender.

Saxbury was convicted of attempting to force sexual contact on a victim known to him during an incident on April 8, 2024, in the City of Buffalo. The defendant pled guilty to one count of Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class “E” felony) on September 30, 2024, a charge that was reduced with the victim’s consent.
In addition to probation, the court also issued a final order of protection for the victim, which will remain in effect until December 2034. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane praised the efforts of the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit and Chief of Detectives Craig Macy for their thorough investigation.
Assistant District Attorney Alexander J. Trunfio of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau led the prosecution of the case.
