(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown unveiled a cache of drugs and weapons, leading to the arrest of a local man.

JAMESTOWN, NY — A traffic infraction on Barrett Avenue late Friday night resulted in the arrest of 45-year-old Thomas N. Dulak on multiple drug and weapon-related charges.

At approximately 11:46 p.m. on December 20, 2024, officers from Jamestown Police Department’s third platoon stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, officers discovered Dulak had an outstanding warrant issued by the department.

Upon taking Dulak into custody, officers conducted a search and uncovered a variety of controlled substances, including cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. Additionally, police recovered a switchblade knife and a cutting agent, along with drug paraphernalia.

Dulak was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. He faces multiple charges, including:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (two counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
