(WNY News Now) – Olean, NY — A routine traffic stop on Sunday evening resulted in the arrest of Steven J. Schnieder, 34, of Olean, who was found to have three active bench warrants from Olean City Criminal Court.
At approximately 10:06 p.m. on December 29, 2024, deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Route 16 in the Town of Olean. During the investigation, Schnieder was identified as the subject of multiple outstanding bench warrants.
Authorities took Schnieder into custody without incident and transported him to the Olean Police Department. He was held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
