(WNY News Now) – A Bemus Point man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop early Saturday morning on Fluvanna Ave in Jamestown.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On January 5, 2025, at approximately 12:04 AM, Jamestown Police officers observed a vehicle committing several traffic violations on Fluvanna Avenue. After initiating a traffic stop, officers identified the driver as 57-year-old Mark R. Tanner of Bemus Point.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Tanner was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI), as well as DWI Per Se for a blood alcohol content (BAC) exceeding 0.08%.

Tanner was transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident and was later released with uniform traffic tickets. He is scheduled for arraignment in Jamestown City Court to face the charges.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
