(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A 50-year-old man faces criminal mischief charges after allegedly shattering a downtown business’s front window with a metal pipe following a dispute.
Officers from Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to the Wine Cellar, located at 309 N. Main Street, at approximately 8:28 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Witnesses reported an in-progress act of vandalism, leading patrons to follow the suspect, identified as Frank G. Hagberg, around a nearby corner until law enforcement arrived.
Upon investigation, officers determined Hagberg used a long metal pipe to smash the double-paned front window of the establishment after being denied service. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
Hagberg is charged with Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
