Dominique Singletary, 29, received his sentence on Thursday before State Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens. In addition to his prison term, he will serve five years of post-release supervision.

The shooting occurred on June 1, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the 1100 block of Elmwood Avenue. According to prosecutors, Singletary fired multiple shots from an illegal firearm during an altercation, striking three adult males. One victim sustained serious injuries, while the other two suffered non-life-threatening wounds. All were treated at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC).

After the shooting, Singletary fled the state. In July 2024, he was located in Maryland by the U.S. Marshals Service Maryland Fugitive Task Force and arrested on an indictment warrant. He waived extradition and was returned to Western New York for prosecution.

On December 15, 2024, Singletary pleaded guilty to three counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B violent felony. His plea was to the highest charges in the indictment.

District Attorney Keane commended the Buffalo Police Department Gun Violence Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service for their efforts in the case.

The prosecution was handled by Assistant District Attorney Frank A. Strano of the Major Crimes Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Thomas J. Comfort of the Felony Trials Bureau.
