(WNY News Now) – DUNKIRK, N.Y. – A woman has been charged with burglary and petit larceny following a shoplifting incident at a local grocery store.

On February 4, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shoplifting at Tops Friendly Market on Vineyard Drive. Upon investigation, deputies determined that Lisa M. Hughes, 41, of Angola, had committed burglary in the third degree and petit larceny.

Hughes was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Dunkirk Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
