(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was arrested early Friday morning on multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated (DWI) and aggravated unlicensed operation, following a traffic stop.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon stopped a vehicle at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the area of East 5th Street and Potters Alley for multiple traffic violations. During the investigation, officers determined that the driver, identified as 51-year-old Nathan A. Abers, was under the influence of alcohol.
Further checks revealed that Abers was operating the vehicle while his license was revoked due to a prior DWI conviction. He was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
Abers has been charged with DWI, DWI Per Se, two counts of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and multiple other traffic offenses. He is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
