(WNY News Now) – SALAMANCA, N.Y. – A Coldspring man was arrested early Friday morning after deputies stopped a stolen vehicle in Salamanca, authorities said.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jordan John, 42, was taken into custody around 3 a.m. on February 7 on Route 353. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle reported stolen from Forest Avenue in the city.

An investigation determined that John knowingly operated the stolen vehicle despite having a suspended driver’s license. He was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

John was processed and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Salamanca Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
