(WNY News Now) – SALAMANCA, N.Y. – A Salamanca woman was arrested early Friday morning following an investigation into a stolen vehicle, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop around 3 a.m. on Forest Avenue after identifying a stolen vehicle. Autumn White, 29, was a passenger in the vehicle and was later found in possession of a controlled substance.

During the investigation, K9 Lex alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a white substance wrapped in tin foil, believed to be fentanyl, within White’s reach. Authorities also determined that White had operated the stolen vehicle earlier in the evening.

White was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
