(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a city resident on drug charges late Friday night.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers were conducting a GIVE Targeted Patrol Detail on February 21, 2025, when they stopped a vehicle for vehicle and traffic violations near North Main Street and Marvin Parkway at approximately 11:46 p.m.

During the stop, officers identified the driver as Amanda M. McKendree, a Jamestown resident. An investigation revealed she was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. McKendree was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

She was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a misdemeanor under New York law. After processing, she was released with an appearance ticket for Jamestown City Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
