(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — A federal grand jury has indicted five Jamestown residents for their roles in a narcotics conspiracy involving heroin and fentanyl distribution, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Andres Pizzaro Campos, 33, also known as “Kiki,” Max Pizzaro Campos, 34, Cindy Frank, 52, Edward Leeper, 46, also known as “Edward Barnes,” and Jaquez L. Thomas, 21, also known as “Quez,” face charges of narcotics conspiracy, which carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life. Additionally, Andres and Max Pizzaro Campos are charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and maintaining a drug-involved premises, each carrying a mandatory minimum sentence of five years. Cindy Frank faces an additional charge of obstruction of justice.
According to prosecutors, between 2018 and May 26, 2022, the defendants conspired with previously convicted trafficker Joseph S. Zaso and others to distribute heroin and fentanyl in the Jamestown area. Authorities allege that Andres and Max Pizzaro Campos used a residence on Hazzard Street and possessed firearms to facilitate drug sales. Cindy Frank is accused of providing false testimony on July 26, 2023, to conceal her knowledge of Zaso’s drug operations.
The case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which aims to dismantle major criminal organizations. The investigation involved the Jamestown Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities emphasize that an indictment is not evidence of guilt, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
