(WNY News Now) – Amanda S. Sendell, 38, of Stockton, NY, faces multiple charges after stealing a motorcycle and helmets from a Portland storage unit.

PORTLAND, NY – A Stockton woman was arrested following a burglary investigation that led to the recovery of a stolen motorcycle and helmets in late December 2024. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary at the Affordable Mini-storage units on Route 20 in Portland.
According to officials, during the incident, a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle and two motorcycle helmets were stolen from a storage unit. The Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) was called in to assist with the investigation.
Through collaboration with the victim and further investigation, 38-year-old Amanda S. Sendell was identified as the primary suspect. She was subsequently charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, and Petit Larceny.
A warrant for her arrest was issued by Portland Town Court. Sendell turned herself in at the County Jail, where she was arraigned. Following the arraignment, she was released pending further legal proceedings.
The stolen 2011 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, along with the helmets, was recovered during the investigation.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
