(WNY News Now) – ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A Dominican Republic national pleaded guilty to illegal reentry after deportation and was sentenced to time served, U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced.
Rolando Antonio Rosado, 59, appeared before Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford and admitted to unlawfully returning to the United States after his prior removal. Following his sentencing, Rosado was transferred to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, an immigration judge ordered Rosado’s removal in June 2000, but he failed to comply. In 2003, he was arrested by the Rochester Police Department on a charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, leading to his deportation in April 2004. Despite his removal, Rosado reentered the U.S. near Laredo, Texas, in 2014. Authorities located him in the Western District of New York on September 26, 2024.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), led by Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan.
