(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A 31-year-old Jamestown man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the early hours of March 8, 2025.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon conducted a traffic stop at approximately 2:42 a.m. near Washington Street and West 18th Street due to an equipment violation. During the investigation, officers determined that the driver, Nathan M. Sharp, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Sharp was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and DWI per se for having a blood alcohol content over 0.08%. He was also issued multiple uniform traffic tickets.

Sharp was later released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
