(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of three individuals on multiple drug-related charges Thursday night.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 8:55 p.m., officers with the Jamestown Police Department conducted a traffic stop near Newland Avenue and Prospect Street for observed traffic violations. During the stop, a male passenger provided officers with a false identity but was later identified as Christopher Swanson of Jamestown. Swanson was taken into custody without incident for False Personation.

Further investigation revealed that another passenger, Brittney Washington of Jamestown, was in possession of fentanyl, while the driver, Jeffrey Shriver of Lakewood, was found with a small quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl. A search of the vehicle uncovered 30.4 grams of methamphetamine and digital scales, indicating possible drug distribution.

All three individuals were arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. They have been charged with multiple offenses, including:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th
  • Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd

Shriver also received multiple traffic citations. All three suspects are being held at the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
