(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of two residents after officers discovered multiple controlled substances inside their vehicle.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop around 5:48 p.m. on March 11 near Allen Street and Institute Street for observed traffic violations. During the stop, officers noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle, prompting a search.
The vehicle’s occupants, identified as Heather M. Brown and Ralph R. Pratt 3rd, were removed from the vehicle before officers conducted the search. Authorities reportedly found quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine inside.
Brown was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and was also issued traffic citations. Pratt was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
Both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Pratt was issued an appearance ticket for Jamestown City Court, while Brown was held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
