(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A welfare check led to the arrest of a Jamestown woman on charges of endangering the welfare of a child after officers discovered unsafe living conditions in her residence.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a residence on the north side of the city for a well-being check. Upon arrival, officers found the home in a state of severe disrepair and learned that multiple children were residing in the conditions.

Following an investigation, authorities determined that Danielle Kane, 43, had allowed the residence to remain in its current state while permitting children to live there. Kane was arrested and charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
