(WNY News Now) – Westfield, NY – A Sherman man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the Town of Westfield on Saturday evening.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies pulled over a vehicle around 6:54 p.m. on March 15, 2025, after observing a traffic violation. The driver, identified as 66-year-old James V. Weise of Sherman, was found to be intoxicated during the investigation.
Weise was taken into custody and charged with Speeding in a posted 55 mph zone, Failure to Keep Right, Open Container, DWI, and DWI Per Se. He was processed and later released with appearance tickets.
Weise is scheduled to appear in Town of Westfield Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
