(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A Jamestown man was taken into custody following a domestic incident on the city’s northside Saturday evening.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers responded to an address on the northside at approximately 4:40 p.m. on March 22, 2025, for a reported domestic dispute. Upon investigation, officers determined that Austin Syper, 46, of Jamestown, allegedly threatened a victim with a Maglite flashlight before damaging the victim’s property.

Syper was arrested at the scene and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree and Menacing in the 2nd Degree. He remains in custody pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
