(WNY News Now) – Police arrest a 38-year-old Jamestown resident for violating a court-issued order of protection during a routine patrol.

JAMESTOWN – On Saturday, April 19, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s first platoon arrested Jose E. Roman, 38, of Jamestown, for allegedly violating an active order of protection.

At approximately 1:26 p.m., officers observed Roman walking on Washington Street on the city’s north side. Police say they recognized him and were aware of a valid order of protection prohibiting him from having contact with the individual he was walking alongside.

Roman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony offense under New York State law.

Authorities confirmed that Roman is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
