(WNY News Now) – Charles N. Dean, 26, of Jamestown, was arrested following a domestic dispute on the city’s east side, facing charges including unlawful imprisonment and criminal obstruction of breathing.

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Jamestown Police 1st Platoon officers responded to a domestic incident reported on the east side of Jamestown. Upon arrival, officers encountered both the female victim and the suspect, identified as Charles N. Dean, age 26 and a resident of Jamestown.

The investigation revealed that Dean had physically restrained the victim by pinning her against a wall and applying pressure to her throat during a verbal argument, preventing her from leaving the scene. Based on these findings, Dean was taken into custody.

In addition to charges of second-degree unlawful imprisonment and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, authorities discovered Dean had an outstanding bench warrant from Jamestown City Court related to a missed court appearance.

Dean was transported to the Jamestown City jail, where he is currently being held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
