At the time of the offense, Myat was serving with the Buffalo Police Department in its reserve unit. He was arrested by the Village of Perry Police Department after an investigation revealed he attempted to subject an adult female to sexual contact through forcible compulsion.
The case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Chelsie Hamilton. Myat was represented by attorney Daniel Killelea, Esq.
“This sentence is very appropriate given the nature of the case,” said District Attorney Vincent Hemming. “I applaud the victim and her bravery for coming forward about this abuse.”
