Police say suspect threatened to have victim shot during early morning phone call

(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A 31-year-old Jamestown man is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening to have someone shoot a protected individual during a domestic dispute in the early hours of August 1, 2025.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, Robert M. Bloom walked into police reception at approximately 2:33 a.m. and admitted to threatening a victim over the phone, despite an active order of protection against him. Police determined that Bloom had made a threatening phone call in which he stated someone would come to the victim’s residence and shoot them. Following the investigation, Bloom was arrested without incident and charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree.

He is currently being held in custody pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
