(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man was arrested Monday evening after police responded to a domestic incident on the city’s south side.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Second Platoon were dispatched to a residence on August 18, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute.

Investigators determined that Pedro J. Cruz, 42, of Jamestown, had allegedly damaged property during the incident. Police further discovered that a valid order of protection was in place between Cruz and the victim. His actions were found to be in violation of that order.

Cruz was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.

Authorities confirmed that Cruz is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
