Deputies say suspect tampered with security cameras before arrest on Bone Run Road

(WNY News Now) – SOUTH VALLEY – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Jamestown man following a burglary complaint on Bone Run Road in the Town of South Valley on Wednesday evening.

Deputies said they responded around 8:30 p.m. on August 27 after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. Upon review of security footage, 40-year-old Dustan Clifton was allegedly observed entering multiple buildings on the property and tampering with security cameras.

Clifton was charged with attempted burglary in the third degree, criminal trespass in the third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child. Following the arrest, Clifton was issued an appearance ticket to return to court at a later date.

Authorities stated that after his release on local charges, Clifton was turned over to New York State Police in Jamestown due to an outstanding warrant. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
