(WNY News Now) – Jamestown police charged a 34-year-old woman with menacing and resisting arrest following a domestic incident on the city’s south side.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at approximately 6:12 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a south side residence after receiving a report of a disorderly person.

According to police, the investigation revealed that Cassandra R. Peru, 34, of Jamestown, allegedly threatened a victim with a knife during a domestic dispute. When officers attempted to take her into custody, Peru reportedly resisted by pulling away. After a brief struggle, police were able to place her under arrest without further incident.

Peru was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was charged with Menacing in the Second Degree and Resisting Arrest. She is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
