(WNY News Now) – Jamestown police arrested a city woman following a disturbance on the Southside, charging her with endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, and an active bench warrant.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — On October 2, 2025, at approximately 9:54 p.m., members of the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a residence on the city’s Southside for a report of a disorderly person.

Upon arrival, officers identified the individual as 35-year-old Briana A. Winslow of Jamestown, who was reportedly being disorderly inside the residence. Police later confirmed that Winslow had an active bench warrant issued through Jamestown City Court.

When officers attempted to take Winslow into custody, she allegedly grabbed her 4-year-old daughter in an attempt to prevent arrest. Police say she continued to resist by kicking, screaming, and thrashing while holding the child. Officers safely removed the child and continued efforts to detain Winslow, who reportedly continued to resist and refused to comply with commands.

After a brief struggle, Winslow was taken into custody without further incident. She was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Resisting Arrest, and held on her active bench warrant.

Winslow was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
